Back to School

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

As announced today by the Premier, the stay-at-home orders in the Mid Coast LGA will be eased as planned from 12:01 am on Saturday 11 September 2021. This means that we can prepare to welcome all our students back to school from Monday 13 September 2021 under Level 3 restrictions.

This will be invaluable for us all to reconnect.

You can review the full details about Level 3 settings on the intranet, but I wanted to share the key elements of what to expect back on-site next week and how we will support our school under the COVID-safe return to school plan:

•   Masks will be required for all staff and students Year 11 & 12 indoors and outdoors while on school grounds.

•    We will be restricting activities to established student groupings to ensure physical distancing is in place and to limit interactions between groups at entry and exit points and when moving around the school.

•    No parents or other non-essential visitors will be allowed on site – please continue engaging with the school via email or phone.

•    Events, assemblies, excursions, field trips etc are not allowed at this stage.

•    Singing, dancing, choirs, bands and sport (except within PDHPE classes) is not permitted at this stage.

•    Our current enhanced cleaning will continue on site and students will be encouraged to continue with good hand hygiene, as was in place before lockdown

We have worked closely with NSW Health in developing our return to school roadmap and COVID-safe school plan. They will continue to monitor vaccination rates and transmission levels in our LGA and will advise us if settings require re-evaluation.

I know that there will be some students and some of you who have personal concerns about returning to school sites.
