Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Exhibition

Exhibition Guidelines

1. The Great Lakes Art Gallery in Lake Street Forster will host the exhibition between June 26 and July 7.

2. An Information Night will be held at Club Forster (Wallis Room) on Monday 30th January at 5pm.

3. Entries can be submitted in two different categories:

a. Local Worimi Stories

b. The NAIDOC Theme – ‘For Our Elders’

4. All artwork needs to be on canvas wrapped on a timber frame. The size of the artwork should be A5, A4, A3 for schools, and no bigger than A2 (594mm x 841mm) for community members.

5. Artists need to complete a label, provided with the entry form and stuck to the back of the artwork.

6. Entry forms will be forwarded to artists following the Information Night using the EOI contact details.

7. Artworks need to be delivered to the Great Lakes Art Gallery on Wednesday 21st June, 2023.

Suggested Timelines for School

SETTING THE SCENE - January to April (Term 1)

• Experiencing the stories – guest speakers, books, online, visiting special
   places ‘on Country’

• Building your skills – art workshops

CREATING ARTWORKS - May to June (Term 2)

• Design and create artworks

• Deliver your artwork by the due date
