Great Lakes College Senior Library is a dynamic learning space that aims to support students in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating physical and virtual environment.

Students are encouraged to become independent learners; develop skills in information literacy; and share and collaborate using web tools.

Great Lakes College Senior Campus Library is part of a Joint Use Library catering for the needs of students from Year 7 to 12.

We have 3 Flexible Learning Spaces for 21st Century learners and a Study Hub for the use of senior students. The library is a popular teaching space with Chrome Books, Desktop computers and a mobile IWB which are in high demand.

Senior students have access to a Senior Study Hub and two smaller seminar rooms. The seminar rooms can be booked for private study throughout the day.

The aim of the dedicated Senior Study areas is to improve the academic outcomes for senior students of Great Lakes College Senior Campus.  This will create a strong learning culture by promoting high expectations, increased engagement and supporting individualised learning.  The Senior Study Hub provides a unique learning environment in a dedicated room delivering technological  accessibility, senior resources and staff expertise.

The aim is to create an adult learning environment where students can access the resources that will specifically address their individual needs.

The Teacher Librarian and Library staff are always there to assist students whether they are on class with a teacher or during their study periods and recess and lunch.

The Senior Campus library is staffed by:

Sonya Langelaar (Teacher Librarian)

Karen Dickson (Library Assistant)
